.on camera-flash beauty?.

I know, I know! If you are a professional you either don't have a flash on your camera, because-you are a P-r-o-f-e-s-s-i-o-n-a-l and own a "professional" camera... or you are a professional with an "amateur" (Nikon D7000) camera like me and you would never be caught dead with your pop-up popped-up lest you be considered an ameateur! Right?  You still might have sneaky suspicions about whether there are any good uses for that little pop-up and that is what I'm here to answer! And I hypothesize there might be good uses for that little flash. For example, I shot this pic and discovered the sparkly wonderfulness that is similar to a ring flash-and was simply giddy over the possibilities.

Which brings me to my new blog idea: Each week (or month-depending on my expediency) I will be posting about often wondered techniques and technicality I've had over the years of shooting.  So here we go!

{Update}

umm..it is kind of hard for me to say it but I might have been a tad bit wrong about the usefulness of the on camera flash, and perhaps the above shot was purely luck.  I experimented for several hours trying to merely recreate that shot above, and that little pop-up failed me time and time again.  I even tried messing with the manuel settings to no avail.  I'm going to have to stick with ramping up my ISO and using my SB600 bounced. Forgive me if I lead you astray.  If you are a professional you are probably saying-'I told you so'.  Wan waaan.. Stay tuned for my next hypothesis and experiment!
